Jeff Crouse and Aaron Meyers at TV of Tomorrow
Co-CEOs of World Series of Tubing - Senior Fellow, Jeff Crouse, and new Fellow Aaron Meyers - will be presenting World Series of Tubing at TVOT 2010 (TV of Tomorrow) show at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco on March 3 and 4, 2010.
In the summer of 2011, Eyebeam Fellow Taeyoon Choi organized a tour to South Korean rivers in development with a group of five artists who are also fellows at Eyebeam Art and Technology Center in New York and about ten artists and activists from South Korea. The tour was designed in collaboration with an activist groups “Listen to the city” and lead by environmental activists and local communities, and hosted by Total Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul. The purpose of the tour was to experience urbanization and river development in first hand and to initiate creative dialogue between international artists and activists to imagine alternative future of our relationship to the cities and natural resources. Through 6 day tour and other events that proceeded over the course of 10 days, the roadshow team learned a great deal about the issue, strategies of participation and the limits of translating cultural context.
Eyebeam invites you to join us for a discussion on the future of internet economies. What might be strategies to explore and build alternate economies? Eyebeam Fellow Fran Ilich, alums Stephanie Rothenberg and Jeff Crouse, and Finnish researcher Susanna Paasonen will lead discussion to examine the worlds of online porn, digital labor, and alternative finance models.
Eyebeam has partnered with O’Reilly to invite attendees of the Strata Jumpstart, Summit, and Conference to our Strata New York celebration. Join us to kick-off a week of activities with a festive evening of creative cuisine, signature drinks, and the sharing of innovative ideas in our visualization showcase.
RSVP is required. If you plan to join us, please RSVP here.
The goal is to tell a story about the state of the art of visualization, the boundaries that it pushes (and isn’t pushing yet), the lessons learned from things gone wrong, and how to think about and intelligently interact with data in visual form.
The artists that will be on display include:
