Everything in Between (working title) is an automated, categorical editing system that produces a collaborative media stream based on user-input. A group of six Eyebeam Fellows, Residents and staff each contribute short mobile phone videos based on a set of categories created and agreed upon by the collective. A set of algorithms will be developed during open prototyping that mix each of the videos from the participants in the collective creating a live edited evolving video from a database. The project tries to get closer to mapping the interplay between our subjectivity and environment while we are doing other things. The work is research into weather a creative categorical approach with automated editing can be a compelling alternative to traditional narrative conventions.
