Allison Schlegel recently completed her master's degree in Industrial Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y.  Her thesis was titled: "From Me To We: Social Experiments in Industrial Design."  It was an examination of the social contexts which we live in and for which we design today, and lead to a proposal to make fostering human interaction a part of the contemporary design standard.  In addition to design research, she makes art and is interested in finding ways to incorporate contemporary design methods/technologies into making her sculptures.  In her free time she hangs out with her pets and studies improv comedy.
