After a year of testing we are releasing a new version of the wildly successful Bright Bike.
The new kit is easier to install, adapts better to everyone's desire to style their bike individually, and is now being made availalbe as purchaseable DIY Kits. Everything is pre cut for quick and easy installation.
There are two styles: Pinstripe and Caterpillar. The pinstripe covers the key reflective points in long lean streaks of reflection. The Caterpillar turns your main tubes into bands of reflective safety.
Everyone's favorite color is black: it is incognito on an urban black bike during the day, and bright white under headlights at night. A close second are red and yellow. We just got in some white, which is slightly pearlescent, and have a light blue, dark blue, green, and orange.
Security Patterns is a studio visit installation of recent laser cut work. These sculptures and drawings are made from old books laser cut with poignant words, and drawings made from industrial patterns, all of which explore transformations in technology and their relationships to evolutions (or devolutions) in economies. Some choice examples include: two display bookshelves with an ever growing collection of 130+ investment guide books and get-rich-quick books (e.g. "Weath is a Choice" or "Investing by the Stars") all laser engraved with the logos of failed FDIC Insured banks, A shrink wrapped bundle of 12 Yellow Pages that have been cut all the way through with the phrase "GOOGLE" and a dictionary with the phrase "OMG LOL" cut from its pages.
Eyebeam's annual, super-kitschy, fun-for-the-whole-family event is back! For one day and one day only, Eyebeam becomes an all-ages, multi-workshop electronic craft-making fair, with entertainment, decorations and plenty of holiday spirit. The workshops are artist-led, free (save for minimal material costs), and you’ll leave with gifts that will far surpass lopsided clay mugs of years past … All in all: A fun, thrifty, edutainment alternative to the trance- and occasionally rage-inducing department-store crawl.
