Toby Heys produces music, sound / video installations and web projects as a member of Battery Operated (www.batteryoperated.net) and robotic / electronic media projects as a member of The KIT Collaboration (www.kitcollaboration.net). He runs the sound / video label Cocosolidciti (www.cocosolidciti.com) and works in AUDiNT (Audio Intelligence) with Steve Goodman and Jon Cohrs. He is currently an AHRC scholar finishing a PhD at John Moores University in England.

Eyebeam presents Open Prototyping, an environment designed to share the ongoing research and production of its fellows and residents. Through Tuesday, April 26, the main exhibition space will operate as a platform for public engagement through workshops, presentations, demonstrations, and informal daily interactions. Like the recent X-Lab program, Open Prototyping fosters an experimental approach that embraces tinkering, critical dialogue, user testing, and the real-time presentation of creative research.

Announcing 2011 Fellows and Winter/Spring Residents

Eyebeam is pleased to announce the recipients of its Winter/Spring Residencies and 2011 Fellowships. These 12 artists and technologists will begin work at Eyebeam’s state-of-the-art new media design and fabrication labs in the areas of programming for urban gaming, activism and technoscience, sound / video installation, technology and the body, sonic ecology, and contemporary network culture.
