Eyebeam Alumni Education Fellows
In addition to developing their own work, the Eyebeam Education Fellows
will work closely with Eyebeam teaching artists to develop and implement
new models for workshops, learning opportunities and audience engagement.
The Fellowship is geared towards artists whose own practice is to work
directly with audiences and who have an interest in developing collaborative
projects with - and a body of educational opportunities for - public schools,
community groups and the general public.
The Fellows will have 11 months to research and develop their own work
and to facilitate programs and events with Eyebeam's Education Lab and
artists. Fellows will also have access to the R&D and Production Labs
to explore new technologies and ideas around public programming and education
at Eyebeam, and within the larger community.

Previous Work
VJ-U
VJ-U is the research project of Eyebeam's 2006-07 Education Fellow, Benton-C
Bainbridge, designed to be a hands-on course to learn the tools and techniques
of the Video Jockey. Participants in his research and workshops help to
develop custom tools including "Vidymis", a digital interface
for analog video synthesis Benton-C is creating with Stephan Moore. Guest
artists include VJs, musicians and programmers. Weekly live performances
and broadcasts showcase the students' work and accelerate the studies.
Urban Attractors, Private Distractors
UAPD is directed by Angie Eng in collaboration with New York artist Jessica
Higgins and Vietnamese artist Rich Streitmatter-Tran and a collective
of student interns in New York and Ho Chi Minh City. The two groups conduct
actions in public centers highlighting private behavior in public space
and the invisible boundaries/filters prompted by mobile technologies and
urban invasions of public space.
OpenFrameworks;
Zachary Lieberman, Theodore Watson and Evan Roth
Hardware and Software Tools for Interactive Installations and Performance;
Mark Coniglia from Troika Ranch and Limor Fried
These are two examples of workshops which have been conducted by Eyebeam
Fellows. The workshops focused on research being conducted and tools being
developed in the Open Lab and Production Studio.
Digital
Day Camp
A summer institute for high school students that embodies the spirit and
model for many of the youth programs at Eyebeam.
