Eyebeam Alumni R&D Fellows
The Eyebeam OpenLab seeks R&D Fellows to work on experimental creative
technology and media projects. We seek artists, hackers, designers, craftsters
and engineers to come to Eyebeam for a year to develop pioneering work
for the public domain.
The ideal fellow has experience creating innovative technology, and/or
media, a love of collaborative development, and a desire to distribute
his or her work as widely and openly as possible. Fellows are expected
to bring both technical and creative skills to bear on a range of self-directed
and collaborative projects. The fellowship is a unique opportunity to
participate in a new kind of research environment and contribute directly
to the public domain.
All work created within the OpenLab is widely distributed and freely available
under open licenses and without patents. All code is released under GPL,
content is released under Creative Commons, and hardware projects are
released with Do-It-Yourself instructions.
Facilities
In addition to their own workspaces within the OpenLab, Fellows will get
access to a number of tools including:
* Laser cutter
* 3D printer
* Fully equipped electronics workbenches
* Multiple co-located servers
* Wood shop
* Electronic sewing machine
* The acquisition of additional supplies, media, hardware and software
can be discussed.
