
Design's latest phenoms, the (appropriately) ubiquitous brothers Bouroullec.
Yes, you have seen quite a lot written about them lately, but there's good reason for this. It's difficult to articulate, but it has something to do with the way in which they produce work that seemingly effortlessly fuses minimalism and organicism. The result is an output that achieves warmth without crowding, human scale and texture without preciousness.
This would be a neat trick for any designer to pull off - Jasper Morrison inevitably comes to mind. But he's in his mid-forties, midcareer. The Bouroullecs are, what, 33 and 28? Insane.
