One of our favorite shows this year has been GRL's OPEN CITY at Eyebeam here in New York. True to the spirit of everything they do, the Graffiti Research Lab has put the entire show online here . (But that shouldn't stop you from actually seeing the show, as it's up until April 7th and is worth the trip to Chelsea)
There's a ton of great videos in the show. Here's a couple of our favorites:
Thanks, Wooster. Thanks also to Gillian at the New York Observer for previewing Open City workshops w/the heading of "highbrow" in yesterday's paper -- a welcome response that we would certainly agree with -- there's plenty of food for thought on display. If you haven't been by yet, tonight's a good time to pop in: We're screening Critical Mass documentary "Still we Ride" at 7:30pm (free, of course!) and word is if it's not sleeting, the GRL boys will take the laser tag bike out for demos.... If you can't make it, don't despair: we're holding workshops this weekend, and with Leon Reid IV, GRL and Steve Lambert of the Anti-Advertising Agency leading them; it'll doubtless be an afternoon of, in the words of Lisa Simpson, creative personal "inbigining" (thanks Chris): Sat. 3/17, 3-5pm. -JR
