Zach Lieberman is an artist, researcher, and educator based in New York City. Lieberman creates artwork with code, and focuses on building experimental drawing and animation tools.

He makes interactive environments that invite participants to become performers. His main focus is how computation can be used as medium for poetry.

Lieberman has held residencies at Ars Electronica Futurelab, Eyebeam, Dance Theater Workshop, and the Hangar Center for the Arts in Barcelona.

Lieberman is a Co-Founder of the School for Poetic Computaton (SPFC), a school examining the lyrical possibilities of code, and a Co-Creator of openFrameworks, an open source c++ framework for creative coding, and

Eyebeam models a new approach to artist-led creation for the public good; we are a non-profit that provides significant professional support and money to exceptional artists for the realization of important ideas that wouldn’t exist otherwise. Nobody else is doing this.
