The Development Manager position is accountable for helping drive the organization’s achievement of mutually-defined fundraising goals, through energetic relationship-building and implementation of creative partnerships with stakeholders. Stakeholders include individual donors, corporate partners, philanthropic foundations, and the larger Eyebeam community. Eyebeam seeks a self-motivated, entrepreneurially creative, and detail-oriented person who can execute successful strategies and tactics in identification, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of gifts through donor cultivation, partnership building, and community engagement. The Development Manager will work closely with the Executive Director and the Chief Operations Officer (COO) on all aspects of fundraising, including institutional giving, gift processing and acknowledgment, prospect research, donor communications materials, and operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The manager is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Director and works as part of a 3-person team, inclusive of the ED, the COO, and the Development Manager; also works closely with all Eyebeam staff.
Along with the rest of the team, this position supports the Executive Director in executing all aspects of the annual fundraising plan to meet the financial needs of the organization. This includes prospect research, solicitation, and cultivation.
This position includes designing and co-managing the online fundraising activities as well as co-managing database entry, including donor and prospect record-keeping, gifts received, tracking event invitations and attendance, and donor trip participation.
The manager serves as an advocate for the important work and accomplishments of Eyebeam, which includes attending events, meetings, and conferences as opportunities arise.
Together with the ED and the COO, the manager writes grant proposals, budgets, and reports for institutional support from corporate, foundation, and government funders.
Manages grant and report deadlines and maintains an internal calendar.
Oversee donation processing, acknowledgment, tracking, reporting, and reconciliation with external accounting co-operative (ArtsPool).
Conducts prospect research to expand Eyebeam’s individual donor base.
Manages Eyebeam’s new online membership program, The FOLD, in close collaboration with the COO and the Programs Team.

Eyebeam is looking for a Full-time Storyteller Fellow (SF), who will be responsible for clearly and creatively connecting the work of Eyebeam with its community and new audiences, through exceptionally strong writing skills. This role crafts communications to tell the Eyebeam story for all digital channels and websites. Additionally, the role is accountable for innovative communications that reflect the organization’s history, present, and future. This is a stand-alone digital creation and execution position.
The SF will work closely with a 3-person Communications team including the Executive Director and the Strategic Comms. Advisor in crafting the most relevant and accessible communications around Eyebeam events, artists, alumni, and programs. Lastly, but equally importantly, the person in this role will be fully accountable for the operationalization, administration, and ongoing engagement of communications through all digital channels.

The Storytelling Fellow is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Director and works as part of a 3-person team, inclusive of the Executive Director and the Strategic Comms. Advisor.
Assist in the ongoing creation of a new, fresh narrative for an evolving organization that authentically and meaningfully links Eyebeam’s past, present, and future.
Develop an adventurous, values-driven voice for eyebeam.org and @eyebeamnyc that is in conversation with radical art practice and emergent technologies.
Manage Eyebeam’s social media channels, schedule content across all platforms, and monitor and respond to comments aligned with Eyebeam’s values.
Conceive and execute visually striking multimedia, multiplatform posts, series, and artist commissions on eyebeam.org and @eyebeamnyc.
Build meaningful storytelling through a collection of alumni and community direct outreach.
Manage, maintain and oversee artists’ collaboration on a predetermined timeline for open. eyebeam – an interactive content platform for communication through artistic storytelling
Design and execute targeted e-mail blasts for news releases, media alerts, and other communications to the news media.
Insightfully interpret data analytics and digital trends to help guide strategy.
Catalog, document, update databases, and index file information as necessary.
Qualifications:
Extraordinary writing skills.
Demonstrated capacity in organizational narrativization.
Ability to utilize communication as a strategic lever for the Organization’s messaging, internally and externally, aligning with our mission, in consultation with the 3-person Comms. Team (described above).
Ability to craft multiple story options into compelling pitches for review.
Attention to detail, strategic thinking, and understanding of what makes a good Eyebeam story are critical for success.
Bring to life, strategic initiatives, and organizational priorities through the voice of our artists in a way that comes across as relatable and inspiring.
Leverage emergent technologies in creative storytelling.
