Art/Science Saturday

On Saturday, December 4 Eyebeam’s X-Lab hosts Art + Science Saturday, a focused workshop space for youth to experiment, play, and learn about creative practice at the intersection of art and science.

PROGRAM:

••• Undesigning.org presents: The Counter Kitchen
A collaboration between Brooke Singer and Stefani Bardin

In The Counter Kitchen (TCK) we turn things upside down from the inside-out. Science and marketing have made product labels nearly impossible to decode — we are here to help. In this special series of workshops, teens learn how to reverse engineer their favorite food, personal care and household products using tools we designed just for this purpose. We simultaneously turn you into a translator, detective, chemist and cook. Learn more about your favorite products, attempt a redesign and even enter a cook-off with the chance of winning “best in show.”

Registration for this workshop is closed, but curious guests can observe and ask questions.

••• PopTech presents: Making Art with Code
SPARK program led by Zachary Lieberman

Join pioneering digital artist and Eyebeam Alum Zachary Lieberman for a series of hands-on demos for students ages 12-14. Zach will reveal how he uses computer code to explore new modes of expression, creating a 3-D face scanner and a device that allows artists to draw with their eyes.
