Be a producer, not just a consumer, this holiday season.
We are hacking into the traditional holiday gift fairs with a range of technological experiences. For one afternoon in December Eyebeam is being taken over by residents, past, present and future.
With hacks by Pam Liou / Sacra (Ayo Okunseinde + Teresa Braun) / Salome Asega / Trash Day (Kenya Robinson + Doreen Garner) / Mimi Onuoha / Morehshin Allahyari / Karolina Sobecka / Tamiko Thiel / Dustyn Roberts / Macon Reed / Giana Gonzalez
Salome Asega will show you how to draw your own .gif holiday cards using Google’s Tilt Brush in HTC Vive.
Tamiko Thiel shows you how to use a mobile Augmented Reality app, create protest signs and more that you can place in Eyebeam’s space.
Karolina Sobecka shows you how to dedicate a cloud on Google Maps to a loved one, and take it home with you, before they are all erased.
Morehshin Allahyari prescribes Iranian and Arabic fawātih (فواتح) or “openers”, and other occult divinations in the form of drawing, text, photograph or document.
Sacra (Teresa Braun and Ayodamola Okunseinde) bring an experience of techno-shamanistic, interactive rituals that facilitate transformation within participants.
The Hackshop is sponsored by event partner Kickstarter.
