Make Music New York

Eyebeam is gearing up to make some noise for the first annual Make Music New York. Once a year, on the first day of summer, public spaces in all five boroughs will become informal musical stages for all New Yorkers, amateurs and professionals, to perform for friends, neighbors, and passers-by, turning the city into a festival of live music making.

For Eyebeam’s contribution to the event, sound artists Stephanie Hunt and Marko Tandefelt stage an “immersive” interactive sound piece on the sidewalk in front of Eyebeam from 4-7 pm. Using water as musical interface, Stephanie and Marko’s music is sure to be fun for all ages.

At 5pm and 6pm, video artist Benton-C Bainbridge and composer/drummer Bobby Previte will be performing an improvised audio-visual duet. The ongoing collaboration by these renowned artists, called DIALED IN, is a trigger-happy dialog between sight and sound. Simply put, DIALED IN is a showdown between a vj pioneer and a badass drummer.
