Screening/Discussion: General Strike

Eyebeam Fellow Taeyoon Choi in conjunction with Death to Capitalism Cinema,  The Public School New York, and Strike Everywhere are hosting an evening of screenings and an open discussion about the May Day General Strike. This screening/discussion will examine the transformative potential and potential consequences of the General Strike planned for May 1st in New York City. This is one in a series of events taking place in an around Taeyoon Choi’s multi-media installation Speakers’ corners.

Says Taeyoon Choi, “We invite academics, activists, anarchists, anti-capitalists, architects, artists, assistants, autonomists, cineastes, facilitators, filmmakers, gallerists, geeks, hackers, hipsters, immigrants, interns, the media, negotiators, nerds, New Yorkers, occupiers, the poor, precarious, protestors, rioters, servants, students, teachers, terrorists, and anyone else to share thoughts about the Occupy movement’s recent call for General Strike.”
